It is an irony not lost on anyone that the Royal Parks hold no fireworks displays - one of the many tyrannies they continue to get away with. you cannot do all manner of things in the London Royal Parks including riding your bike yet we continue to to put up with this oh but you can ride your horse!

and I quote

"The Police have requested that the public are reminded that it is against Royal Park regulations to set off fireworks and they will be on Primrose Hill to ensure the rules are kept. "

Give me strength.

It would take very little to organise a displays in Regents park / hyde park. Organised concurrent displays in either central london park would solve the issues of over crowding.

The problem is that there is no money in it for the Royal parks and that is the major concern for an organisation more concerned with art fairs and food fairs and the significant revenue it generates in quasi public spaces.

The knock on effect is to send the crowds to Clapham - which results in untold disruption for locals anyone who has attempted to attend Lambeths admirable free show.

My suggestion start lobbying your local MP who is Frank Dobson in the primrose hill area I believe

Or even your local Lib dems they are constantly pestering us on their door to door campaigns to see if they can do anything for the NW1 area

At least they are trying I suppose
